New radical community for finding friends. [29 Jul 2008|06:20pm]

Hello, I apologize if this is a repetitive post in your f-lists, but please bear with me as I announce the following:

add_a_radical (Livejournal Radical Networking Community) Is a newborn community in which its purpose is to link individuals together with common interests in the political spectrum--in particular the radical and revolutionary edges of the table. I created this community in the hopes of making new friends with similar views; as well as having the chance to meet different people who have varying experiences in life--I feel everyone should have a priority in their life that demands for them to speak their mind, and exercise freedom of expression and 'out of the box' thinking. I feel that most of the "Add_me" communities meant for meeting new writers on livejournal are somewhat lacking in these uniting interests, and thus, have felt obliged to create such a community as this one.

Hopefully this community will prove useful as a resource for activists and thinkers to meet new friends with common interests.

Thank you for taking the time to read your invitation to the LRNC!

The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young.  GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at:  www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the United States.

I'm Melissa...and I'm new. I'm in love with red lipstick and the dark look of the 1920's. I'm not sure what else to say about myself...I'm glad this community exists though. :-)

Seeking RED [15 Mar 2003|04:13pm]

Can anyone recommend a dark red lipstick, that has brown undertones? Not too brown.. just to make it a beautiful red.. that won't look odd on myself. ..Possibly with a matte finish (but whatever recommendation would be greatly appriciated).

So far, all of the lipsticks I've come acrossed are either too pink-red or too orange-red.

I have "porcelained honey complection" and in summer, I usually accidentally have a deep caramel skin colour.

I love red lipstick.. but can't seem to find 'the right one'..

"Closet" Vixens,
Hullo! <3 The name's JillA. I'm starting a website entitled "High Gloss: Girls, Girls, Girls^10" (hosted on geocities, and will hopefully also be highgloss.cjb.net). This site is intended to capture the essence of femininity and female sexuality. It will feature downloads, links, suggested reading (IE: Lolita, etc), physical how-to's (clothing, makeup, your room, ways to throw the shutter on yourself as a girl), articles (like why we find mouths so sexy, women and styles in history which really grabbed our eyes, playing dress-up, the colour red's effect), music reviews, etc.

When I talk about clothing and makeup, I don't mean what's in style. I mean brightass red lipstick, platform boots, rhinestone trimmed glasses, short skirts, smoky smudgy jet black eyeliner, anything BOOM SHAKALAKA IN YO FACE I AM SEXY. This is about being a girl through a girl's eyes (me and you), not being what society wants you to be. All the information on this website is free to be commented on by readers at ANY time. This is why I put my AIM and Yahoo handle right on the front page, smack dabby like a dop o lipgloss below your vermillion curve, baby.

Why I'm posting? I'm looking for those who would be willing to donate their graphic arts/writing/anything talents to help the site build. You'll get full credit of course. I'm looking for super cute/sexy/fem wallpapers, LJ icons, icons, cursors, any form of downloads which are desirable and also writers of articles featured on the site. These articles would be:
> The history of the "heart"
> Pink...Why Pink?
> 1910's- Victorian Fashions and Women of the 1910's
> 1920's/30's- Jazz, Flappers, Silent Film Beauties.
> 1940's- Swing and Pin-up Girls
> 1950's- Marilyn Monroe and other starlets..."What are those poodle skirts and blouses covering?"
> 1960's- Mod, Peaceful War and Free Love
> 1970's- Disco
> 1980's- "Like" A Virgin
> 1990's/Now- Open minds? Open Hearts?
> Ribbons, Lace, and Pearls
> Dressing up (Not "Playing Dress Up", that one's mine. XD)

So, if you're interested, could you pretty please (with sugar on top) email here with the subject of this:
___________high gloss ||| wanted?

<3 Spanks,

P.S. I should get all of the site up tonight or tomorrow, but slightly barren.
